I took photos of the nazis who showed up to Unite The Right in Charlottesville, VA, on August 12, 2017. I will be making a number of posts on this topic, most of which have been posted elsewhere, like on Twitter. Given Twitter’s inconsistent and fash-leaning enforcement, their existence on that platform isn’t safe, so I’m re-posting them here.
To get a few things out of the way: these photos were taken of people in public at a public event, and many of them are co-conspirators in both the murder of Heather Heyer and the organization and execution of the specific event. No reasonable expectation of privacy exists in this situation, or any other situation in which I have taken photos. These photos do not constitute an endorsement of these ideologies, but rather an effort to identify these individuals so that their affiliations and actions do not slip into the obscurity of time. These people willingly joined organizations for the express purpose of utilizing political terror to maintain their grip on power. This isn’t a youthful dalliance or a mistake, and these people should be haunted by their actions until they atone.
Let’s begin. This gallery features members of the “Fraternal Order of Alt Knights” which were a formation modeled after the multiple felon Kyle “Based Stickman” Chapman. This was a satellite organization of the Proud Boys. Their distinctive unit insignia is a circular patch with a silver “V” and an american flag.
